MICHEL BALAGUé - CEO & Producer

Michel Balagué has produced and co-produced films by directors such as Hanna Slak, Tamer El Said, Filipa César, Leila Albayaty, Mais Darwazah, and Marcin Malaszczak. Between 2010 and 2015 he was co-director of Mengamuk Films.

Furthermore, Michel has produced art films by Cyprien Gaillard, Terence Koh, Tarek Atoui, Bárbara Wagner/Benjamin de Búrca and many others. Besides these individual collaborations, he was commissioned to make films for international institutions including Haus der Kulturen der Welt and Kunst-Werke in Berlin, Fundació Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona, The Yokohoma Triennial, and the Cimatheque in Cairo. He also produced films by and with the art curators Hila Peleg and Catherine David.

Michel participate in EAVE Producers Workshop 2019, he was selected for the 2014 Emerging Producers Program in Jihlava. He participated in the Studio program of the New Horizons Festival in Wrocław and in the Berlinale Talents 2014 program. He was invited to join different co-production platforms such as FID-LAB (Marseille), Open Doors Locarno, CineLink and the Torino Film Lab.

Alongside his work as a producer, Michel co-founded the super 8 & 16mm collective LaborBerlin in 2006. He has collaborated with a range of art institutions around the world, mostly on film related projects, and previously had a career as an award-winning DOP.

Michel Balagué lives and works between Berlin where he has been based since 2003.

ERAL KALENDER - JUNIOR PRODUCER

Eral Kalender is a Berlin born Junior Producer. During and after his film studies at the Freie Universität Berlin he worked in various positions in the movie business: he coordinated the art department of major feature films and worked for the production of foreign movies in Babelsberg. As a Junior Producer he profits from the expertise of German independent producers, for whom he worked as an assistant. With Michel Balagué he is currently working on the feature film NOT A WORD, written and directed by renown Slovenian director Hanna Slak.

SERGI SANCHEZ RODRIGUEZ -DIGITAL COLORIST

Graduated from Digital Media by the University of Barcelona (UAB), he completed his studies on Film and Digital Media at the University of California (UCSC). Based in Barcelona and Berlin, his work includes commercials, film, fashion, music videos and corporate. His first feature film as a Colorist premiered at Mar del Plata Film Festival (Aventurera, 2014, directed by Leonardo d'Antoni). He has done the color-grading for most of the movies by Volte.

GABOR RIPLI - SOUND DESIGNER

Gabor Ripli is a Hungarian sound designer. In 2014 he received his Master degree in sound recording and sound design at the Academy of Arts of Novi Sad. Since moving to Berlin in 2015, he has continuously been working with Michel Balagué. Besides his collaboration in feature films he has been involved in many video art projects which make him a versatile and knowledgeable sound editor.
